If you have an exam-related accommodation Stephanie Foster will contact you in the first 2 weeks of class with instructions on how to schedule your accommodated exams. If you do not receive an email after 2 weeks, first search your email for “foster80” as the email may have gone to spam. If you do not have an email from Mrs. Foster, then contact her at foster80@purdue.edu. The exam will be administered by either the Department of Mathematics or Purdue Testing Services, depending on the accommodation type.

For students in all other Department of Mathematics courses

  • Discuss your exam accommodation needs with your instructor as soon as possible. The instructor may either provide the accommodations themselves or direct you to schedule the exams through Purdue Testing Services.
  • If your instructor directs you to Purdue Testing Services (PTS), follow these steps to schedule your exams.
  1. You must schedule your exam at least 4 days (96 hours) in advance.
  2. The deadline to schedule Fall 2024 final exams is November 29, 2024 at 11:55pm ET.
  3. Click the RegisterBlast link within your Brightspace course. If you are unable to locate this scheduling link, please contact your professor directly as they will need to ensure it is added to your course.
  4. Follow the instructions on the page for scheduling your exam. You will only be able to schedule for the date(s) and time(s) that your professor has specified and when PTS has availability. If you do not see the exam you are trying to schedule in the drop down selection, this means your professor has not yet submitted the Testing Instruction Form (TIF) for this exam and you will need to contact them directly.
  5. Check your Purdue inbox for a confirmation email to ensure your request was successfully received.
  6. Students must inform the instructor immediately of cases when PTS is at capacity or otherwise unable to proctor the exam so that the instructor can make other arrangements. Students who fail to follow this process and meet stated deadlines risk not being able to have their accommodations for that exam.

Quiz Accommodations

Students who want to take in-class quizzes with their accommodations can fill out a Quiz Form. If your class has co-operative quizzes then there may be slightly different procedures than outlined on the form. See your Recitation Instructor or Lecturer for details.

Exam Accommodations

  • You must schedule to take your accommodated exams through the DRC in their DRC Student Portal at least two (2) business days before the exam date listed on the syllabus.
  • In the case of final exam, you must schedule by the Friday before quiet week (November 29, 2024, for Fall 2024).
  • Students must inform the instructor immediately of cases when DRC Testing is at capacity or otherwise unable to proctor the exam so that the instructor can make other arrangements. Students who fail to follow this process and meet stated deadlines risk not being able to have their accommodations for that exam.

Quiz Accommodations

  1. A student with extended time quiz accommodation attends the class session during which a quiz is being administered.
  2. The student copies the quiz problems from the blackboard / doccam onto a sheet of paper. (The student will later take this sheet home, do the quiz with the extended time accommodation and send to instructor.)
  3. The student turns in another piece of paper which is blank except for the student’s name, date and quiz number. This shows the instructor that the student was present for the quiz.
  4. The student completes the quiz at home with the extended time accommodation and emails an image of the quiz to the instructor within 24 hours of the quiz time.
