Gregery Buzzard to lead CCAM

Gregery Buzzard has been named the new Director of The Center for Computational and Applied Mathematics (CCAM), effective February 1, 2024.

Buzzard has a wealth of valuable experience in CCAM and the mathematics department. Since joining the faculty in 2002, he has participated in many committees in the department, college and university. From 2013 to 2020 he served the Mathematics Department Head. Buzzard has advised and is currently advising many doctoral and undergraduate students. He has twice received the Ruth and Joel Spira Excellence in Teaching Award and received significant grant support for his research. Read more about Buzzard’s research and scholarly interests.

Buzzard said, “I'm happy to take up this role and look forward to building on Purdue's long-standing strength in applied math.”

CCAM offers a comprehensive graduate educational and research program in applied and computational mathematics and promotes both fundamental research and scientific and engineering applications.
