Math Majors Recieve Newly Established Scholarship


Andrew Mathis is the first recipient of the Andris A. Zoltners Scholarship. Andy will be a junior next fall and is a joint Math/CS major (in the Mathematics honors option). He was salutatorian of his Whiteland Community High School class. At Purdue he has been been on the dean's list and has a GPA of 4.0 major/3.81 overall.

Thomas Horine is the first recipient of a scholarship established from a fund in memory of mathematics professor Meyer Jerison. Tommy is a sophomore honors mathematics major. He was also the recipient of this year's Golomb Prize, a noteworthy accomplishment for a freshman, and he competed on our Putnam team.
