Advanced credit exam information
Students can take advanced credit exams to receive Purdue Credit for select undergraduate courses. Exams cannot be taken for elective credit, they can only be taken for credit in a course that is required by the student's plan of study.
Your advisor must give you a completed Mathematics Advanced Credit Exam Authorization Form (PDF) before you can register for an exam.
Credit exams are not open to students who have received a grade in the course (or an equivalent course) or are currently taking the course (after the first exam). Students with W in a course are permitted to take the credit exam.
Each exam can only be taken once.
Students may take multiple credit exams by registering for multiple sessions. If a student is registered for consecutive exams (i.e. MA 16500, MA 16600, MA 26100) they must take the exams in ascending order and receive a passing grade on the first exam to be eligible to take the second exam etc. If a student receives a non-passing grade on a prerequisite course they will not be eligible to take a higher level exam until they take and pass the prerequisite course.
