Password Policy

1. passwords must be between 8 and 127 characters inclusive


2. passwords must contain at least one of EACH of the following:
   • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
   • English lowercase characters (a through z)
   • non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %, 0-9, etc.)


3. you cannot set your new password to be your current password or your previous password (password history of 1 in UNIX, password history of 2 in Windows)


4. your password cannot be any of the following or substantially similar to any of the following:
   • your current password
   • your username
   • your surname (family name)
   • your given name (first name)
   • your full name
   • your email address
   • any of "local", "people", "math", "purdue", "edu"
