Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematical Data Science
Candidates with a strong applied/computational mathematics background are invited to apply for a research postdoctoral fellowship in the area of mathematical data science within Professor Rongjie Lai’s group (https://www.rongjielai.com) at the Department of Mathematics (https://www.math.purdue.edu), Purdue University.
The successful applicant will collaborate on one or more multidisciplinary projects within the Lai group. Possible projects include, but are not limited to, deep manifold learning, optimal control and deep generative models, geometric deep learning, optimization and sampling on manifolds, and signal processing and deep learning on graphs. Additionally, this position offers great opportunities for multidisciplinary collaborations with experts in medical imaging, computational chemistry, materials science, and mechanical engineering.
The position is designed to last up to three years, with an initial appointment of two years. An extension to a third year is contingent upon the availability of funding and the fellow's performance. The anticipated start date is August 2025; however, an earlier start date can be arranged if the selected candidate prefers
