Info for week 3 of MA 366 ------------------------- Find my pep-talk video for week 3 at https://www.math.purdue.edu/~bell/MA366/PepTalks/ To make it easier to figure out which problem a Piazza post refers to, I suggest that we use a convention like this: 2.3: 18b in the subject line to identify the problem, i.e., section of the book, colon, problem number. Exam 1 will be an open textbook, open course notes, take-home exam that I will release on Friday, Sept 18. It will be due on Tuesday, Sept 22 at 10:00 pm in Brightspace as a single PDF or scanned PDF file. It will cover lessons 1-9. You can see on the course calendar that Wednesday, Sept 16 is the suggested day to view my Review lecture for Exam 1. I will also post review material that week before the exam. I noticed that some of the files uploaded as HWK 1 submissions in Brightspace were rather large and some were not PDF files. The graders are trying their best to deal with these files, but I recommend converting files to single document PDF files, taking care to control the size of the file, for best results. I have enjoyed meeting many of you in my WebEx office hours! Drop in to let me know how things are going, even if you don't have questions. -Steve Bell ------------------------------------------- Week 3 work: Watch lecture videos for Lessons 7,8,9 and read sections 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6 of the book.
