Otávio Menezes

I'm a Golomb Visiting Assistant Professor at the Math Department in Purdue University in West Lafayette, working under the supervision of Prof. Jonathon Peterson. Before coming to Purdue, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, under the supervision of Prof. Patrícia Gonçalves, from 2017 to 2019. I got my PhD at IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, in 2017, under Prof. Milton Jara.

I'm a mathematician working in Probability Theory, specifically on interacting particle systems and their scaling limits. I'm also interested in random walks in random environments and in mixing times of finite Markov chains. My articles can be found on arXiv.
